For my figure i made a turtle, out of plaster. Some difficulties i had during this project was carving it into the shape. Trying to chisel the sculpture into the shape i wanted was hard. the parts kept breaking off and chipping how i didnt want them too. To prevent this from happening i had to go little pieces at a time and take my time, which is hard for me because i am a very impatient person. And I tried very hard to make it into the sculpture I wanted but I ended up just giving up on the other shape which was originally supposed to be a bear with antlers but it wasn't working out. Some things that went well was the painting. Standards Evidence
Originally I wanted to do a bear with antlers but that didn't work out like I planned. So, I thought about the next animal that was original and meaningful - a turtle. I picked a turtle because when I was little (around 7 years old), my dad and I would look for agates. We'd always find turtles on the road and put them back in the swamp. I think my aunt would appreciate it because she's close to me and she knows how hard it is to lose a parent. If I were to put the artwork somewhere, I would probably put it in some kind of museum for sea life.

For my pot i made a change holder. the techniques i used were pinching, and smoothing. The colors i used were like a lighter purple and a darker purple. I liked the way they went together.
For this artwork i used my resources and i used my feelings, i expressed myself in different ways, and came up with different ideas to prove myself to the artwork. I got feedback from my classmates and considered a lot of their comments, as a person you should always listen to what other people think you should do , even if you don´t want to. I came across quite a bit challenges, the tree i was making seemed to have not come out right like i wanted it to. the bottom of the tree was too thick for the top of the tree , and i took advice from Mrs underhill to improve it. As i noticed the artwork i had made did not even close to turn out how i wanted it too, so i decided to start over. I made an apple to represent my dad. Each morning when i was a little girl he would cut me up apples and give me some peanut butter with them. Then we would just talk about stuff that needed to be done around the house or how my dad was gonna go. it was a great way to wake up. I am trying to push myself as far as i can go with this but my mind has been vaguely wandering. i know i can improve in lots of things, and i know i can push myself a little further. For me stepping out of my comfort zone is not something i like to do escpecially not in school and this was hard for me to talk to my teacher about because its a touchy subject and it puts me in tears. But Mrs underhill listens to me and for some reason make sit feel like i dont need to be sad, but comforted in my life. And that is something i look for in every teacher.
Target Evidence I can use observation and research to investigate an idea I can explore and plan themes, ideas or concepts. I sketched out what I was going to do before I started this project, and made sure I knew what I was going to do. To seek out an artwork I was looking on pinterest for ideas to make things with the popsicle sticks. i sketched out on paper what i was going to do. The materials i used for this subject were popsicle sticks and paint, i also used a hot glue gun to glue my project together. I explored new media with the popsicle sticks , because i have never really used them to make a project before. I researched the techniques before i started this project. Practicing with the popsicle sticks was something i probably would enjoy doing again but im not sure i was too good at it. Artist Statement
reflection questions: 1.For this week of art we used these materials, paper sculpture, paper mache, cardboard, task board, plaster, plaster gauze, soap, floral form, and wire.
2.These materials surprised me because the way they can stick together without coming apart so easily just from gooey stuff ad newspaper, was pretty cool. the textures were fascinating and making things i didnt know i could. 3.The material that i would probably use again was the altered book, it was fun playing with things and colors to create something into a book. 4. A material i probably wouldnt use again would be the paster, i didnt like the texture. and it was hard working with it. i like to try new things but this wasnt what i would like to do. my goals for this semester is to create things i never thought i could, learn things i never knew about, and be able to turn my things in on time, and achieve this class, and pass with flying colors. I´m going to try my best to make art that comes from the heart. I´ve always had a passion for art, mostly drawing , and painting. me and my mom used to paint and draw before she changed. And it´s always had a special place in my heart.
